Hey friends! So yesterday I turned 27!!!! And to mark my first day as a 27 year old I thought I would give birth to my blog by publishing my first EVER product review.
First up is the LUNA Sleeping Oil by Sunday Riley ,marked to be the next generation of retinoid oil with ingredients promised to tackle the appearance of damaged skin whilst reducing beaming pores, I jumped at the opportunity to test this baby out. Now, all this goodness comes with a hefty price tag of £85 a bottle which in my eyes screamed MIRACLE skin also reflecting the confidence Sunday Riley has in her products however before rushing to the shops I decided to watch a few reviews to ensure I was making the right investment (because this stuff is not cheap!) To be honest most reviews were positive so I rushed out and brought it home to give it go.
Now I am an oily skin girl, however I am obsessed with good skincare products and no matter how many natural oils the skin produces , great skin care = GREAT SKIN (plus water!). Firstly, I must comment on the packaging, the oil is presented on a white cushioned platform and looks like pure luxury. Now back to the oil, once dispensed from the handle the consistency is somewhat thick however once rubbed onto the skin it does not feel as heavy on the face. However, if you are sensitive to usual fragrances ( a mixture of herbal spices) ,you may not be a fan. Due to the retinoid ingredient, I used the Luna oil three times a week every night for a month until my skin got used to the product and began to use it four times a week. In the early stages of using the product, I did experience some flaking which was not so cute(FYI! completely normal side-effect of retinoid) but after a few weeks the flaking stopped.
To be honest, I do not think this is a bad product however I do not believe this is a miracle product at all. I have not seen any major changes to the tone of my skin nor the size of my pores however my skin is softer however I believe this would be similar result from any facial oil product. That being said , I like the part this product plays in my night time routine following cleansing my skin however I personally believe you could find a similar night oil with cheaper price tag and achieve similar results.
